Urban Farming in
Detroit
During the summer, I worked with a group of interns to help address the issues of vacancy and food desserts that plagued Detroit after the recession of 2008. With over 40,000 vacant homes and 50,000 vacant lots, Detroit had an abundance of resources to revitalize land into thriving urban farms. Throughout the summer, we were able to successfully grow over 60 varieties of tomatoes and other vegetables and provide a farmer's market to the Highland Park neighborhood that previously lacked access to fresh produce.

Architecture in Education
2015- Present
Along with other volunteers from The AIA Tampa Bay Chapter, I spend 8 weeks a semester with fourth and fifth graders introducing them to the study of architecture. As a part of the program, we challenge students to think about the design of the spaces they occupy and to ultimately play the role of both client and architect to design and model a building.
